Choose Baden Pools for Your Pool Fencing Needs: Construction, Installation and Maintenance in Melbourne

If you’re lucky enough to have a pool on your property, then you’re likely well versed in fencing. In Australia, all pool owners are required by law to fence their pool to help protect their family and friends. Yet with a number of detailed requirements that must be met in order to meet safety standards, it can be difficult to know where to begin. That’s where Baden Pools comes in – we’re the team to call for any of your fencing needs. Whether you need construction and installation or ongoing maintenance, let our experienced team take care of everything.

What standards must be met?

Not only do the laws for pool fencing vary from state to state, but there are also substantial changes based on the time of the build. For that reason, we recommend looking into the specifics for your area to ensure you’re meeting all the laws. Yet there are a number of things you can expect as standard:

  • Any water deeper than 30cm is required to be surrounded by a safety barrier – including inflatables
  • Fencing needs to be at least 1.2m high, and not accessible by climbing over objects. Pot plants, eskies, pumps and chairs must be moved away from the fence.
  • Gates must be self-closing and self-latching, and it’s illegal to keep the propped open.

If you’re struggling to wrap your head around what you’ll need to do to meet these requirements, we can help. If we’re building your pool, we won’t even fill it until we’ve installed fencing that meets the industry regulations.

What options can I choose from?

We construct our fences from a number of materials, all of which are durable and attractive. Aluminium, glass, steel and wire are among the most popular choices in the moment, but we can help you choose a material that complements your property. This way your entire pool area will look it’s best.

Is ongoing maintenance necessary?

Whilst maintenance may not be necessary to keep your pool fence working correctly, if wear and tear occurs, repairs may be needed. This can include broken panels or fence posts, or issues with the gate itself, which will receive the brunt of use. If your fence needs some extra attention, get in touch today.

As you can see, Baden Pools aren’t just the number one choice for pool construction. We also offer a full-service team, which extends to your fencing.
