Pool Construction

A concrete pool has to be founded on natural solid ground and cannot sit in fill, therefore sometimes soil reports are required for the engineer to be able to do the structural design. In some cases pool footings, piers, screw piles or bulk concrete may be required for structural integrity.

How long will the build take?

The pool construction process generally takes anywhere from 3 – 6 months depending on the size of the job, the difficulty, the products required and most importantly how quickly the client can make decisions i.e. tile selection and surrounding area materials.

Once we make a start on site with excavation, then it takes approx 1 – 2 weeks on most jobs to get the pool to concrete shell stage. From there, there is a curing period before tiling can commence and if it’s to be fully tiled, then this can take anywhere from 2 – 4 weeks depending on the size of the pool and design of the pool and obviously the weather. During this time, we would normally run the pipes back to the plant room and get your solar heating and pool equipment installed.

Is a building permit required?

Yes, you will also need to allow 3 – 4 weeks lead time, for the engineering and building permit, from the time of signing. This will again depend on the difficulty of the engineering required and possibly other factors such as proximity of easements, distance from your neighbours property, trees and existing buildings.

When can the pool be filled?

We cannot fill your pool up until the pool fence is up and any surrounding boundary fences comply as per industry regulations. This generally means that your landscaping will need to be completed first.

Every job has unique circumstances and the build time will depend on all the other site works i.e. house renovations, new house build, full back yard makeover. We will give you a better idea once we have discussed your project in its entirety.
